HOSPITALITY
"Let us go off by ourselves to some places where we will be alone and you can rest for a while"
So they started out in a boat by themselves for a lonely place. (Mk.6,31-32).
At first glance the Finalpia Abbey , placed at the edge of the urban fabric , does not seems a lonely place .
It all depends on why you're here .
How many monks - in more than five centuries - heard His invitation , "Come ... " and have followed him up here for a lifetime !

GUESTS ' RECEPTION
ALL guests arriving are greeted like Christ .
The guests ...should be accompanied to the prayer ( RB 53,1.8 ) .
The hospitality that the Abbey offers is not just a vacation or only a physical rest, being the monastery "the house of God" and "the school of the service of the Lord." (RB 31,19; Prol. 45).
For obvious reasons , ladies , eager to experience monastic life , are requested to contact female Monasteries.
We augur that their stay give them new vigor to be more welcome by God and to return to their duties that attend them in their life in a more Christian way.
The monastic Community greets with evangelical spirit the brothers wishing to spend few days- (usually one week)- in meditation and in reflection, in communion of prayer with the monks.
Guests are fraternally invited to participate in the liturgical prayer of the Community , to cultivate a silence that fosters listening to God and to seek the encounter with Christ in the Word and in the sacraments .
Currently a specific guesthouse does not exist in the monastery, but the guests are lodged in few available rooms (with private facilities) between the rooms used by the monastic Community.
The rooms are on the first and second floor.( No elevator is available.)
For the hospitality accorded we don't have fixed rates :we ask only that everyone - bearing in mind the current cost of living - participate according to their financial resources : the Monk foresterario ( so called in monasteries the monk in charge of the guests )He is always available to help
The Community , does not accomodate married couples .
For organizational reasons, it is good to book in advance , preferably in writing ( letter or e- mail: abbazia@finalpia.it ) and not by phone .
The sea with all his charm is very near.
Highland of the Manie offers splendid examples of Mediterranean bush.
Prehistoric and archaeological sites.
Towns and places that talk about ancient and modern history.
Magnificent things you could find in these places, but we are sure that you could find other likewise splendid things elsewhere.
